कोई भी Pooja करने से पहले हम गणेश भगवान की पूजा करते है या उनका धयान करते है तभी आपकी Pooja लगती है अथवा आपकी पूजा नहीं लगेगी। अगर आप रोज़ पूजा करते है तो पंच देवताओ की Pooja ज़रूर करनी चाहिए। पंच देवता में सबसे पहले है - सूर्य देव, गणेश भगवान, माता पार्वती, शिव भगवान और विष्णु भगवान। इन पंच देवताओ की पूजा अनिवार्य है जब भी आप रोज़ पूजा करे इन पंच देवताओ की Pooja ज़रूर करे। इसी के साथ पूजा करने की एक विधि और है जो की है आसान पर बैठ कर पूजा करना। खड़े होकर Pooja घर में पूजा नहीं करनी चाहिए। आप लोग लाल रंग या पीले रंग का आसन लाकर अपने पूजा घर के सामने रखकर उस पर बैठ कर आप सही विधि से आप Pooja कर सकते है।

• जब भी आप शिवलिंग की Pooja करे तो याद रखे, शिवलिंग की पूजा करते समय जल चढ़ाने के बाद, शिवलिंग पर कभी भी तुलसी, कुमकुम और केतकी का फूल नहीं चढ़ाना चाहिए वर्ना उसके बहुत ज्यादा दुष्ट परिणाम हो सकते है और जब भी आप शिवलिंग पर दूध चढ़ाये तो वह दूध ताम्बे के पात्र में न चढ़ाये।
• सूर्य देव की Pooja में शंख का प्रयोग नहीं करना चाहिए क्योंकि सूर्य देव की पूजा में शंख का प्रयोग करना वर्जित है। 
• शास्त्रों के अनुसार, माँ दुर्गा को दुबला घास नहीं चढ़ाई जाती है, माँ दुर्गा को हमेशा कुमकुम चढ़ाया जाता है।
• तुलसी की पती को कभी भी रविवार के दिन नहीं तोड़ना चाहिए। रविवार के इलावा आप कभी भी तुसली की पती को तोड़ कर Pooja में प्रयोग करे सकते है लेकिन याद रखे आप नहाने के बाद ही तुलसी की पती को तोड़े तभी आपकी पूजा लगेगी। 
• जब भी आप आरती करते है तो याद रखिये कि भगवान के चरणों कि 4 बार आरती लीजिये नाभि की 2 बार आरती लीजिये और चेहरे की 1 बार या 3 बार आरती ज़रूर लीजिये। 
• गंगाजल को कभी प्लास्टिक की बोतल में नहीं रखना चाहिए हो सके तो गंगाजल को हमेशा स्टील या ताम्बे के पात्र में अपने पूजा घर में आप रखिये। 
• पूजा कभी भी राहु काल के समय में नहीं की जाती है मगर राहु काल के समय में आप राहु और शनि की Pooja ज़रूर कर सकते है। आप अपने घर में वास्तु के हिसाब से उत्तर दिशा में आपका मंदिर होना चाहिए।

लगभग सभी हिन्दू घरो में मंदिर बनाये जाते है वह से उनके दिन का आरम्भ होता है अधिकतर लोग अपनी सहूलियत के अनुसार पूजा ( pooja ) पाठ करते है जो कि सरासर गलत है पूजन संबंधी कुछ नियम होते है जिनका पालन हर घर को करना चाहिए तभी इसका फल मिलता है अक्सर लोग पूजा तो कर लेते है लेकिन इन नियमो से अपरिचित रहते है जिसका फल उन्हें नहीं मिलता आज हम आपको बताएंगे कि यदि घर में पूजा करते है तो उसके क्या नियम होने चाहिए|

• वास्तु के नियमो के अनुसार, मकान के पूर्व उत्तर के पूजा का अस्थान सबसे सर्वोत्तम माना गया है इस स्थान पर पूजा स्थल होने से घर में रहने वाले को शांति, धन, सम्पति, प्रसन्नता और स्वास्थ्य का लाभ मिलता है 
• घर में देवी देवताओ की फोटो और मूर्तियाँ इस प्रकार स्थापित करनी चाहिए की पूजा करते समय हमारा मुँह उत्तर या पूर्व दिशा की और हो ।
• घर के मंदिर में मूर्तियां छोटी और कम वजन वाली हो, अगर कोई मूर्ति खंडित हो गयी है या क्षतिग्रत हो गई है तो उसे तुरंत पूजा सथल से हटा कर कही बहते जल में प्रवाहित कर दीजिए।
• यह भी ध्यान देना चाहिए की भगवान का चेहरा कभी भी ढका नहीं होना चाहिए यहाँ तक की फूल माला से भी चेहरा नहीं ढका होना चाहिए।
• जिस घर के लोग मंदिर को गंदा अँधेरे से युक्त या घर के बेकार सामान का अड्डा बनाकर रखते है ऐसे घर में शत्रु अपना सिर उठाये रखते है और आर्थिक परेशानियाँ, रोग और शोक स्थायी बसेरा बनाकर वहाँ रहती है।
• रसोई घर में मंदिर बनाने से घर के लोगो को असफलता का मुँह देखना पड़ता है परिवार के किसी सदस्य को बीमारी अपने चपेट में लिए रखती है इसलिए रसोई घर में कभी भी मंदिर नहीं बनाना चाहिए  । 
• घर के मंदिर में प्रतिदिन सुबह और शाम पूजन के समय घंटी अवश्य बजाये, घंटी की ध्वनि से नकारात्मकता का नाश होता है और सकारात्मकता में बढ़ोतरी होती है।
• मंगल, शुक्र, रवि, अमावस्या, पूर्णिमा, द्वादशी, रात और सूर्य ढलने के बाद तुलसी पती को न तोड़े। तुलसी की पती और गंगाजल कभी बासी नहीं होते इसके अतिरिक्त कोई भी बासी सामग्री का प्रयोग मंदिर में न करे।
• मंदिर में चमड़े से बनी वस्तुएँ जैसे की जूते, चप्पल, बेल्ट आदि लेकर न जाये। 
• रात को सोने से पहले मंदिर के आगे पर्दा ज़रूर करें ताकि भागवान के विश्राम में कोई बाधा न हो।
